A macroeconomic paper is required for this course, constituting 25% of your course grade. Your paper must focus on one of the following macroeconomic topics:

1. The Great Recession of 2008 – Causes and Consequences
2. COVID-19 and U.S. Economic Growth
3. U.S. Tax Structure – Is it designed to help or hurt the poor?

After selecting a topic, conduct a thorough literature review on the subject. Your course paper should be a minimum of 10 pages, double-spaced, excluding the title page and references. There is no upper page limit. Additional guidance will be provided during the first week of the course.

Organize your paper into five sections:

• Introduction and objective: Ensure the objective is specific.
• Literature Review: Summarize relevant works following APA guidelines.
• Analysis: Analyze your topic in reference to the objective.
• Summary and conclusion.
• References: Include at least five references, with at least one scholarly book and/or journal.
