Project Brief:

Your task is to provide a comprehensive structural design and documentation for a proposed office building situated at 1000 La Trobe Street, Docklands. Refer to Figure 1 for the site location. Preliminary Google Map sketches of the project are available for reference.

Building Specifications:

The architect has outlined the following specifications for the building design. Your structural design must adhere to Australian Standards and the manufacturer’s specifications for materials.

Design Assumptions:

For simplification purposes, it is assumed that wind loads govern the design. Wind uplifts must be considered for roof beams.

2. Foundation design
3. Stair design
4. Ground floor slabs

Your project will be evaluated based on your interaction with the teaching staff, your level of interest and effort demonstrated, the professionalism of your report, and adherence to instructions. Design selection will be assessed based on the appropriateness of chosen members.

Ground floor, standard floor, and roof plans are provided below. The dimensions of the floor plan depend on your student number. Assume the last digit of your student number to determine the dimensions.
