Make a Video!
I am going with Option 3: Interview a parent/family member. How do they foster the love of learning through reading and/or writing for their children. Create your own questions based on the information in the assigned chapters, listen to the families. Ask what they expect from their child’s caregiver/teacher. Be creative.
Practice and play by making a video and sharing it with the group. In the video (or in written form), note moments when concepts of print, phonological awareness, phonics, expressive/receptive language, written language register, acquiring story schema, gaining concept knowledge, cultivating comprehension strategies, learning how to make inferences, predictions, and interpret/apply information, and fostering a positive attitude about reading described in Chapter 2 of our text.
Option 1: Create a video of an adult (you or someone else) reading a book to a child of any age infant through 8 years. Be creative.
Option 2: Create a video of yourself reading your favorite children’s book out loud as if you were reading it to a group of young children. Be creative.

Option 4: Create four sketches of print-rich learning environments–infant, toddler, preschool, and K-2 inspired by the sketches in Chapter 3 of the textbook. Be original, label the areas, and be intentional about incorporating writing and reading centers for each developmental level (age group). Be creative.
For this assignment you can either use your phone or a laptop to record a quick video. Here are the instructions to make and upload a quick video using LEARNscape:
Use Kaltura Capture (Computer) to record your video or use the MediaSpace app (Andriod or iOS devices) to upload your video from your device into LEARNscape.
