After watching the short film on two key environmental public health agencies and thinking about the “political ecology of health” framework explored in Lecture 3, create an argument statement that supports the implications of such a framework for thinking about environmental health problems and how government agencies should address them. Choose 1-2 examples from the reading or extra-curricular sources that connect to contemporary issues happening in the world today, such as the global pandemic of COVID-19. Since this is an argument essay, you should avoid “I” statements. Rather, practice writing a thesis statement (that is well supported by the learning material) to show how socioeconomic disparities, environmental injustice, and individual and collective health intersect.
