Emerging and Reemerging Infectious Diseases in Humans
A pathogen is a biological agent that causes illness or disease to its host.
An emerging disease is one that has appeared in a population for the first time.
A reemerging disease has previously existed but is rapidly increasing in the number of new cases or in a specific geographic range.
This week, we will explore some emerging and reemerging pathogens and diseases.
