Assignment Description:

Based on your reading of the Mother and Baby Homes Commission Executive Summary Report (2021). You will be expected to engage in sound academic discussion throughout your writing using accurate in-text citation from reliable sources to support your argument. This should be written in an Academic/ Formal Register(style).

Reading outside core reports and texts named in this brief is recommended and essential in gaining a full understanding of the context of this assignment. If using websites, it is advisable to source the journal, report or book that the information is based upon. (On occasion the website may be the original source of the information, please use a critical approach when using this type of source) These must be correctly referenced in a Bibliography.

Part 1 (1200 words) 1. Summarise 1 of the Ethical issues that have arisen from the report ? (List the ones that you can identify briefly explaining why they are ethical. Describe the issues and identify what they involved. (30 %) In your discussion you will make reference to the (40%)

1. The social/political context and its influence on the behaviour.
2. The legal context existing at the time.
3. The role of the professionals and the other stakeholders in the situation.
4. The role of the other agencies involved. a. Identify the lessons for Social Care services from these issues and the impact of registration for maintaining ethical standards. (30%)
