Assignment 1:
Not All Companies Are Viewed as Equal In the realm of free trade, not all industries are perceived equally by the public. Is this ethical? Are some industries unfairly singled out? Should consumers have the choice to engage with products deemed unhealthy, or do companies bear an ethical responsibility to safeguard people? In this assignment, you`ll select one industry to examine. Possible sectors to explore include tobacco, soda, alcohol, casinos, or confectionery companies, among others.
Craft a paper of one and a half to two pages in length in which you:
• Advocate for either the consumer or the industry. Present a compelling argument outlining why you support one over the other.
• Elucidate the role capitalism plays in corporate decision-making.
• Debate whether a company can simultaneously cater to its best interests and those of consumers or if one must always take precedence. Substantiate your stance with justification.
