Description

Personality theories contain important insights in explaining individual differences in behaviour. One of the most popular personality theories is the Five-Factor Model of Personality. However, other personality theories can offer additional insights into human behaviour not covered by the Five Factor Model. Your task is to explain individual differences in your chosen behaviour using the Five Factor Model and one other personality theory of your choosing from the list in the table below.

In this assessment, you will critically evaluate personality theories, with a particular emphasis on matters of relevance to current and emerging challenges. You must demonstrate your understanding of the different personality theories and how these theories can provide insight into individual differences in behaviour.

Choose one of the behaviours below. You must focus on one of the behaviours below, otherwise a grade of zero will be awarded for this assessment.

• Individual differences in prejudice
• Individual differences in obedience to authority

Compare and contrast the Five Factor Model and one other personality theory`s explanation of individual differences within your chosen behaviour. Your additional personality theory must be selected from the options presented in the table below.

The assignment will need to include the following:

• Provide a justification on why it is necessary to learn about individual differences within your chosen behaviour.
• Formulate an explanation of individual differences within the chosen behaviour based on the two selected theoretical lenses.
• Critically evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of the theories in their utility in describing and explaining your chosen behaviour.
