Directions: The Op-ed is an essay in a newspaper or magazine that gives the opinion of the writer and that is written by someone who is not employed by the newspaper or magazine
You will use this Op-ed to advocate for a policy, community/vulnerable population, or an intervention. Your op-ed assignment should be public health/health policy related. The bibliography accompanying your Op-ed should include Op-eds that you read in preparation for your own. You should also include a summary of the medium’s Op-ed requirements.
Consider all of the public health implications and connections to the issue. The Op-ed should be supportive of work that’s already being done in this area. This is not only a personal opinion piece; it’s advocacy for an issue you deeply care about.
Select a current public health issue and write an op-ed piece, with an intention to be published. Select a newspaper or a magazine in which you wish to see your name in print.
Submit your Op-ed written in APA style (7th Edition)
