Question: Patient underwent fine-needle aspiration to remove a cluster of cells from a solid mass, subcutaneous layer of the left upper quadrant, abdomen. Computed tomography (CT) imaging guidance for needle placement was performed. Physician palpated the mass, cleansed the area with Betadine solution, and inserted a 22-gauge needle into the solid mass. Approximately 1 cc of tissue was removed.
