    1. Final Research Project
By now we have summarized, analyzed, synthesized, and written the first research paper. Now we are moving towards integrating larger amounts of research into our writing to support a claim. Andrea Elliott wrote Invisible Child: Poverty, Survival, and Hope in an American City to examine the experiences of Dasani and her family. Dasani and her family are used as a case study for examining the way a community’s social distinctions and perceptions can impact the day-to-day experiences of the residents. Although her work focused on one family, the ideas, concepts, and experiences can be applied to other states, cities, and communities that look like the one where Dasani and her family live. Throughout the text, Elliott refers to larger ideas, policies, and historical events as having an impact on people like Dasani and her family.
Essay Instructions: The following are two quotes from Nelson Mandela. We have used these two quotes to drive our discussions about the larger issues in the text.

For the second research paper, we are going to take a deep dive into homelessness in the United States. What factors contribute to homelessness? Who experiences homelessness in the United States at a higher rate? How does homelessness impact children? How does the nation treat homelessness and homeless people? What systems have created a structure where homelessness and poverty seem to thrive? What can the nation do to improve the conditions for all people? The goal of this research paper is to nudge you toward the top of the Bloom’s Taxonomy pyramid

You cannot use encyclopedias, websites, newspapers, magazines, social media, etc. The final submission is due May 9st by 11:59p. This paper should be based on research and not opinion. It should be a demonstration of your highest analytical skills. As with any paper written for this class, there should be no first person (I, me, my), second person, (you), or first-person possessive/collective language (we, us, our) used. Do not speak directly to the reader and do not reference yourself as a writer. Engage the audience in a comprehensive examination of the topic.
