Assignment instructions:

As a project manager, identify and propose a potential future project within an organisation of your choice. The project must address a specific business challenge and deliver outputs that significantly enhance organisational performance. These outputs should align with strategic goals to improve operational efficiency, customer satisfaction, or business growth. The aim is to create a comprehensive Project Initiation Document (PID) that provides a foundation for project approval, management, and evaluation.

For this assignment, you are required to create Project Initiation Documentation (PID) of 4000 words for three primary purposes:

1. Establishes a firm foundation for the project before seeking project board approval.
2. Provides a baseline for assessing the project’s viability during execution.
3. Acts as a single reference point for managing and controlling the project.

Your PID must address the following minimum elements:

• Project Definition: (Background, Objectives, Deliverables, Scope, Exclusions, Constraints, Assumptions, Governance)

• Project Management Team Structure: (Description of team roles, Inclusion of the RACI Matrix to outline responsibilities)
• Communications Approach: (Responsibilities, timings, and methods)
• Project Plan: (Tasks, milestones, durations, resources, and interdependencies (using Gantt chart or table format)
• Project Controls: (Decision gates, Progress reporting, Issue reporting, Lessons learned)
