Instructions
You are required to carry out a firm-level analysis explaining firm-level outcomes based on secondary data available from the Orbis database, which can be accessed via the University’s online Library Service.
The aim is to investigate how various firm characteristics such as size, age and ownership (the independent variables) affect firm performance such as turnover, profitability and market capitalisation (the dependent variables).
You need to design an empirical (i.e. an evidence-based) methodology by extracting, preparing, presenting, describing, analysing and interpreting the data.
You should then provide a written report of the findings, including a discussion about how qualitative methods could be used to support or expand the research study.
