Description
Aim: To engage in critical self-reflection within a cultural intentionality framework.
Critical self-reflection is an important component of professional development used by many health care professionals, including psychologists. It can bring awareness to our beliefs, emotions and behaviours that influence our decision making. Critical self-reflection is an important skill and should be built early in a therapist`s career, so this assessment task has been designed with this ethos in mind.
The aim of this assessment will be to focus on the use of critical self-reflection to better understand how your perceptions, beliefs, knowledge and interactions with people may influence your professional practice. The assessment is to help build your capacity to engage in i) cultural intentionality and (ii) reflective practice.
Assessment task 4 will focus on your ability to reflect the worldviews that you possess or consider important and how these will influence the development of therapeutic alliance.
Self-reflection

However, as this is academic writing, ensure you adhere to the principles of academic writing as you would in any other assessment (e.g., writing in full sentences, having structure in your paragraphs and your overall assessment)

Your knowledge may include that which you have learnt during this subject (e.g., cultural intentionality, therapeutic approaches etc.)
Articulate and evaluate how the above factor(s) may manifest and impact your work with a diverse range of clients (e.g., those who are neurodiverse, different SES, ethnicity etc.). Remember to provide specific details such as who, what, where, when and why.
