After choosing your topic, develop a list of relevant keywords and phrases to search in the Wayne State University Online Library System. Use the databases to find books, scholarly journal articles, and websites that are relevant to your topic. You will need a minimum of 4-6 sources for your paper, 2 of which must be scholarly and from the WSU Library databases. Other sources from the internet may be used so long as they are credible internet sources from popular news outlets and magazines (such as the resources you are using for the Hot Topic Assignments). The use or reference of Wikipedia in the paper will result in an earned grade of “0” and a re-write will be required by the end of the semester.
Your paper should contain the following parts:
Introduction
The material should set up your topic for the audience with an introductory summary.
A thesis or central purpose should be easily identifiable at the end of the introduction. This should be in your own words and points out the major issues/topics you discovered in your research.
Body of Paper
The body of your paper should provide supporting evidence and discussion to support your thesis in a logical, developed manner.
Content should support a thoughtful and in-depth analysis of the topic.
In this section, the reader should gain valuable and important insights from the research you conducted.
Information provided should come from a variety of sources and the sources should be weaved into the content in an orderly and supportive way.
Quotes of more than 4 lines will not be accepted.
The use of sub-headings in APA format is encouraged.
Conclusion
The conclusion should include “wrap-up” statements about what you learned about your chosen topic.
This section should be summative and provide thoughtful significance for the field of sport management.
