II. Digestive System
1. Draw and label the entire digestive system. Define mastication, defecation, and deglutition.
2. Outline the functions of the organs in the digestive system, including mouth, esophagus, stomach, small intestine, large intestine, liver, pancreas, gallbladder, rectum, and anus.
3. Explain the purpose/need for enzymes in digestion, NAME the enzymes.
4. Explain at least 2 major disorders of that occur within this system. Include:

III. Excretory (Urinary) System
1. Draw and label a diagram of the kidney (include the cortex, medulla, renal pelvis, ureter and renal blood vessels).
2. State the functions of the system. Define excretion.
3. Explain at least 2 major disorders of that occur within this system. Include:
a. A brief description of the disorder
b. Signs and symptoms

IV. Circulatory (Cardiovascular) System
1. Draw and label a diagram of the heart showing the four chambers, associated blood vessels and valves.
2. State the function of the system.
3. Explain the relationship between the structure and functions of arteries, veins and capillaries.
4. Explain, in detail, the pathway of blood through the heart (including names of structures - don`t forget about the valves!).
5. Describe the composition of blood, including plasma, erythrocytes, leukocytes and thrombocytes.
6. Explain at least 2 major disorders of that occur within this system. Include:
a. A brief description of the disorder
b. Signs and symptoms
c. Prevalence (statistical occurrence, who is affected)

V. Respiratory System
1. Draw and label the respiratory system including trachea, lungs, bronchi, bronchioles, and alveoli (alveoli should be drawn as an inset diagram at higher magnification).
2. State the function of the system.
3. Describe the relationship between the respiratory and circulatory systems.
4. Describe features of alveoli that adapt them to gas exchange (include information on surface area, tissue composition and role of capillaries).
5. Discuss how carbon dioxide and oxygen are transported in the blood.
6. Explain at least 2 major disorders of that occur within this system. Include:

b. Signs and symptoms

VI. Immune System
1. State the function of the system.
2. Define pathogen, active immunity, passive immunity, antigen, and antibody.
3. Explain why antibiotics are affective against bacterial but not viral infections.
4. Explain at least 1 major disorder of that occurs within this system AND HIV/AIDS. Include:
