Assignment:
In Cunningham, we read about how the early power of the FBI came from policing the Mann act, which outlawed "interstate transportation of women `for the purpose of prostition and concubinage`" (16). Cunningham goes on to explain that by infiltrating and surveilling prostitution houses, the FBI soon learned a good deal about "the prominent individuals" (i.e. rich and powerful people) who went to prostitues. Think about ways that this information might be abused; in other words, what could go wrong if the FBI learns about the sexual transgressions of powerful politicians or wealthy individuals?
