As a member of the analytics consultant team, your main goal is to craft a compelling Project Management Plan (PMP) suggesting analytics and/or AI-based solutions (including a prototype) to address the scenario outlined in the case study. This comprehensive PMP should delineate a welldefined implementation approach while addressing essential governance requirements. Furthermore, it is crucial to articulate the key stakeholders in the analytics project, detailing their interests and considerations. Additionally, you must emphasize the benefits of the solution for the organization as a whole and for each stakeholder involved in the project.

To accomplish this, you are expected to:

• Identify and understand key elements of PMP.
• Familiarize yourself with the essential components of a well-structured PMP, such as the executive summary, project scope, objectives, potential risks, estimated costs, and expected returns on investment. This foundation will serve as the framework for your final proposal.
• Conduct thorough research on existing literature and case studies related to analytics project management for implementing modern analytics solutions. By drawing from industry best practices and successful examples, you can strengthen the credibility and persuasiveness of your proposal.

Conduct comprehensive research on UNSDG cases to gain a deep understanding of their context, the stakeholders involved, and ethical considerations, particularly regarding data. Pay meticulous attention to the ethical complexities and nuances associated with data in the NAB case. Examine NAB’s organisational profile and stakeholders included in the case study. Leverage this research to evaluate the applicability of the analytics project within NAB`s disaster relief assistance scheme.

Your primary objective is to craft a draft Project Management Plan (PMP) using the provided template on the LMS. This draft should illustrate how the adoption of your proposed solution aligns with and fulfils the scenario outlined in the case study. By effectively addressing the needs and expectations of NAB, your proposal aims to instil confidence and garner support for the successful implementation of this initiative

Analytics Project Case Study

This case study has been designed in partnership with National Australia Bank (NAB). The scenario set out below represents a business case that NAB could (hypothetically) apply to the disaster relief assistance scheme for their customers.

Scenario

In the event of a natural disaster in Australia, how might NAB use analytics and/or AI based solution(s) to enable the bank to respond in a meaningful and timely manner to better serve their customers and communities? Ideally, students should explore how NAB can better support their customers when the bank offers $1000 disaster relief grants for customers affected by natural disasters.

Background on scenario

• The purpose of this Challenge Statement is to enhance the students’ understanding of the natural environment of Australia.
• This topic directly supports learning objectives at La Trobe University that increase awareness of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDG), specifically SDG 11 and 15 (Sustainable Cities and Communities).
• The study will encourage students to gain an understanding of areas of Australia prone to severe weather events (floods, bushfires, tropical cyclones & storms, heatwaves and extreme weather events) and use data analysis to potentially predict areas of vulnerability in the future.
• The scenario has strategic alignment with the NAB Foundation’s Group Strategy - Disaster Relief Assistance
