Ch 1 Discussion Questions
1. How is your learning as an adult different than when you were a child?
2. "It is through specific strategies, selected by the facilitator, that the learner or participant becomes involved in the learning process. If the strategy is effective, the participant should be stimulated to continue learning in the future." Describe a learning situation where you were "involved" and "stimulated" in the manner expressed here. What was it that made this experience possible?
3. Our book asserts that there are four entities (the learner, teacher, organization, and content) involved in the teaching-learning transaction. Those entities have both needs and preferences. Comment on how these dynamics influence an adult learning situation.
