Select one of the following options for your analysis:
1. KRISTIN JOZKOWSKI – SEXUAL ASSAULT AND COLLEGE CAMPUSES ( SEE ATTACHED )
2. MATT LAMKIN AND CARL ELLIOTT – CLINICAL DRUG TRIALS AND COMPENSATION ( SEE ATTACHED )
3. JEFFREY WILLIAMS – COLLEGE EDUCATION AND STUDENT DEBT ( SEE ATTACHED )
The main purpose of this assignment is to demonstrate important analytical writing skills like: 1) the ability to comprehend complex, multi-faceted arguments, 2) the ability to reference and integrate specific details from outside source materials , and 3) the ability to compose a critical assessment based on your own analysis or interpretation of scholarly work.
This assignment emphasizes a formal or academic style of writing. This means that the analysis should be organized using a standard college essay model (with an introduction, three body paragraphs, and a conclusion). The essay should also have a thesis (which is to say, you need to make an argument about the effectiveness of the author/essay being analyzed).
To support your analysis, the paper needs to include at least two direct quotes from the reading. All quotations should include a parenthetical reference to its original page number, e. g.: According to Hudson, “gentrification is creating a massive crisis in San Francisco” (3).
Since the essays being analyzed have been pre-selected by the instructor, there is no need to include a works cited page.
For everything else, you can follow standard formatting guidelines (i.e., use a standard font, double-space, use standard 1″ margins, etc.). Some additional formatting questions will be addressed in class prior to when the assignment is due.
