Global citizenship can be referred to as ethical as well as moral disposition which can guide the understanding of person or group of people. It reminds an individual their responsibilities towards society or community. Global citizen is a person who identifies with being part of an emerging world community and whose actions contribute to building this community`s values and practices. I agree with this idea, as I perceive that global citizenship nurtures personal respect and respect for others. It also motivates people to develop critical thinking. Global citizenship also enables them to develop or increase their confidence level. It also allows people to develop various skills as well as core competencies which are required for facing challenges and garbing various opportunities (Sant Obiols, McDonnelland Hanley, 2017.). Concept of global citizenship have direct as well as significant effect on ethics as well as influence on decision made by an individual. In addition to this, global citizenship assist young people in developing understanding about world events. It provides person an opportunity to get involved in their local, national and global communities. Global citizenship empowers people to gain knowledge and exercise their human rights. It also helps in promoting global awareness. In addition to this, global citizenship teaches people ethics, leadership etc. Purpose of global citizenship is to promote happiness.
