As part of your role, you are required to visit clients in home-based environments. Today you are visiting a client, Amanda, who has two young children and who lives with her partner. Amanda`s partner is an alcoholic and regular drug user. He has been known to become violent at times. While talking to Amanda, you notice her youngest child has bruises on his legs and is very quiet. You also notice that Amanda`s child seems to be in pain and seems to be avoiding eye contact.

Your observation indicates that the health and safety of Amanda`s children is potentially at risk. During the meeting, Amanda tells you that she suspects her partner has sexually assaulted her son. Amanda asks you not to let anyone know about this as she has the situation at home under control and will deal with it herself.
